As of March 1, 2017, this innovative approach was already making strides in the Kenyan market.

The cultivation of apples in Africa is primarily concentrated in the highland regions of Kenya. Notably, areas such as Transzoia, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kiambu, Nyeri, and Kericho have become key hubs for apple production in the country. One noteworthy local variety, known as the Wambugu Apple, has demonstrated remarkable adaptability to various climates across Kenya. As of July 1, 2023, this thriving apple industry in Kenya continues to expand, contributing to the country’s agricultural landscape.
